Mewn sesiynau gyllidwyd gan ARTIST ROOMS i gydfynd ag arddangosfa Anselm Kiefer o weithiau ar bapur, mae pobl ifanc lleol wedi troi’r hwdi holl-bresennol yn hysbysfwrdd ar gyfer negeseuon ar ddiwylliant Prydeinig yn Amser Kiefer Amser Ni a mae aelodau Clwb Ieuenctid Dolwyddelan wedi defnyddio animeiddio ffram llonydd i greu chwedl werinol newydd sy’n cyfuno mythau Almaenig a Chymreig.

Through ARTIST ROOMS funded sessions in conjunction with the Anselm Kiefer exhibition of works on paper, local young people turn the ubiquitous hoodie into their own message board on British culture in Amser Kiefer Amser Ni (Kiefer’s Time Our Time) and Dolwyddelan Youth Club members have used stop frame animation to create a new folk tale that combines elements of German and Welsh myths.

ARTIST ROOMS On Tour is an inspired partnership with the Art Fund - the fundraising charity for works of art, making available the ARTIST ROOMS collection of international contemporary art to galleries throughout the UK. ARTIST ROOMS is jointly owned by Tate and National Galleries of Scotland and was established through The d’Offay Donation in 2008, with the assistance of the National Heritage Memorial Fund, the Art Fund and the Scottish and British Governments.

Local young people are being inspired by the themes Anselm Kiefer has on German Culture in his artworks. The young people participating in this project are working on transforming a hoodie to incorporate their own message board to express their own opinions/themes about young British Culture.

Mae pobl ifanc lleol wedi’u hysbrydoli gan themâu diwylliant Almaenig yng ngweithiau celf Anselm Kiefer. Mae’r bobl ifanc sy’n cymryd rhan yn y prosiect yn gweithio ar drawsnewid hwdi i ymgorffori eu hysbysfwrdd eu hunian i ddatgan eu teimladau/themâu am Ddiwylliant Ifanc Prydeinig.

Take pART / Cymrwch RAN

Sioned Phillips and Ysgol Eglwysbach started KS1-2 Kiefer workshops today – here they are in the gallery looking at Kiefer’s work and making their own Kiefer inspired artworks – very creative students – hope to see Ysgol Eglwysbach in Mostyn again soon!

Cyfweliad gyda Rosemary Sharman/ Rosemary Sharman interview

Daeth Dawn Wilson ar wythnos o brofiad gwaith i'r Mostyn. Yn ystod ei chyfnod yma cynhaliodd gyfweliad gyda Rosemary Sharman, un o artistiaid Mostyn Agored 2011, a mae modd gwrando ar y cyfweliad yma. Da iawn i Dawn am gynnal cyfweliad gwych a diolch mawr i Rosemary am adael i ni gael golwg i mewn i'w gwaith.

Dawn Wilson attended a week placement in Mostyn as part of her work experience. During this time she interviewed Rosemary Sharman, one of our Mostyn Open artists, available to listen here. Well done Dawn for conducting a fantastic interview and a big thank you to Rosemary for giving us an insight into her work.

Snowdonia Art Festival Drop in Session / Sesiwn Trawo Mewn Gŵyl Gelfyddydau Eryri

Bernadette Rippon, Mostyn’s head of Learning, led landscape inspired drop in session for all who wanted to attend. This is the third year in succession that Mostyn have sponsored the festvial and we are very happy to be part of the event. Landscape inspired workshops at Ysgol Pentrefoelas / Gweithdai ysbrydolwyd gan y tirlun yn Ysgol Pentrefoelas

As part of Mostyn’s sponsorship of the Snowdonia Art Festival Bernadette Rippon, Mostyn’s head of Learning, led landscape inspired workshops to compliment the up and coming festival (7-9/10/11). Students looked at their local landscape and worked together to create 2 group pieces and worked on individual pieces that were inspired by their favourite place near home. Here is a sneak peak of some of the images that will be exhibited in the Memorial Hall, Betws Y Coed from 7-9/10/11 during the festival.

Teacher’s talk with David Nash / Sgwrs i Athrawon gan David Nash

David Nash gave teachers a unique opportunity to have a walk through with him to discuss his exhibition in Mostyn and the various aspects of his artworks. Teachers and Nash discussed the skills he uses that could be transferred into the classroom and the different approaches to sculpture. It was an extremely inspirational talk and we would like to give a big thank you to David and all the teachers who attended.

Rhoddodd David Nash gyfle unigryw i athrawon gerdded drwy ei arddangosfa gydag e gan drafod ei gyflwyniad yn Mostyn ynghyd â gwahanol agweddau o’i waith. Cafwyd trafodaeth rhwng yr athrawon â Nash am ba sgiliau oedd yn addas i’w trosglwyddo i’r dosbarth a gwahanol ymdriniaeth tuag at gerflunwaith. Roedd yn sgwrs arbennig o ysbrydoledig a hoffwn roi diolch mawr i David ac i’r athrawon fynychodd.

David Nash inspired workshops / Gweithdai ysbrydolwyd gan David Nash

Bernadette Rippon, Mostyn’s head of Learning, led David Nash inspired workshops at Bryn Y Maen school. Students were inspired by their surrounding landscape to create detailed drawings and screen prints and used images of Nash’s smaller sculptures to create their own chalk drawings following David Nash’ style. Here is a sneak peak of some of the images that will be exhibited in Mostyn’s Oriel 6 from 19th of November.

Teacher Art camp / Gwersyll Celf Athrawon

During the summer break Mostyn held 4-day workshops for teachers. We had 4 artists lead various sessions including; clay, printing, painting, felt making and photography workshops. All the participants had a fantastic time and took many skills away with them that they are now implementing in their schools. Here are some images from the week:
