Graffiti Workshops / Gweithdai Graffiti

Andy Birch, a leading graffiti artist, led some fantastic workshops in Mostyn for secondary school students. These pupils had the opportunity to work with Andy to look at his graffiti work and compare and contrast it with that of Alex Katz, the students created some fantastic work combining both styles and experienced two ends of the contemporary art spectrum! Cafodd y disgyblion gyfle i weithio gyda Andy gan edrych ar ei waith graffiti a’i gymharu a gweld y gwahaniaeth rhyngddo â gwaith Alex Katz. Fe grewyd peth gwaith ardderchog gan y myfyrwyr yn cyfuno’r ddau steil a phrofi dau begwn y byd celf cyfoes! Dyma rai lluniu o’r gwaith rhagorol grewyd:

Youth Club animation / Animeiddio Clwb Ieuenctid

Bernadette Rippon, Mostyn’s Head of Learning, has been working with Old Colwyn Youth Club to create an Alex Katz inspired animation. Participants have worked hard to create a humorous take on the Katz portraits and developed a story for the characters. The animation is a mix of stop frame and film and will be shown in Mostyn from the 16^th of April to the 2^nd of May.

Bu Bernadette Rippon, Pennaeth Dysg Mostyn, yn gweithio gyda Chlwb Ieuenctid Hen Golwyn i greu gwaith animeiddio wedi ei ysbrydoli gan Alex Katz. Mae’r mynychwyr wedi gweithio yn galed i greu stori hwyliog o amgylch porteadau Katz a datblygu hanesion i’r cymeriadau. Mae’r animeiddio yn gymysgedd o fwrdd llonydd a ffilm a chaiff ei ddangos yn Mostyn o 16 Ebrill i 2 Mai.

Adult Classes / Dosbarthiadau Oedolion

Tenants supported by the Approved landlord Project were invited to participate in the Alex Katz Masterclass evening workshop at Mostyn Gallery. Those attending were given the opportunity to explore art in different forms and encouraged, by leading artist Sevan Nigogosian, to experiment with a range of drawing techniques, in ways that could help them develop confidence in learning new skills. Cafodd tenantiaid sy’n cael cefnogaeth gan Gynllun y Landlordiaid Cymeradwyedig wahoddiad i’r Mostyn i gymryd rhan mewn noson o Ddosbarth Meistr Alex Katz. Cafodd y rhai fu’n mynychu gyfle i archwilio gwahanol ffurfiau o gelf a chael anogaeth gan yr artist blaengar Sevan Nigogosian i arbrofi gyda gwahnaol dechengau llunio, mewn ffyrdd sy’n gallu helpu i ddatblygu hyder gan ddefnyddio sgiliau newydd. Workshops for Blind Deaf participants / Gweithdai i fynychwyr Dall Byddar

Colin Antwis, an experienced artist who has worked with various Blind Deaf groups in the past has been leading workshops in Mostyn for Blind Deaf UK participants. These workshops have been looking to compliment the artwork of Alex Katz and have included drawing techniques, painting and collage skills. Bu Colin Antwis, artist profiadol sydd wedi gweithio hefo nifer o grwpiau Dall Byddar yn y gorffennol yn arwain gweithdai yn Mostyn i fynychwyr Dall Byddar DU. Bu’r gweithdai yma’n edrych ar ffyrdd i gydweithio gyda gwaith Alex Katz gan ddefnyddio gwahanol dechnegau llunio, technegau paentio a gludwaith. Dyma rai o’r gweithiau trawiadol wnaed gan y grŵp.

Teacher Training / Hyfforddi Athrawon

Mostyn Held 2 Teacher Training days in partnership with Careers Wales, these professional development days looked at the Katz exhibition to give an array of lesson plan ideas, discuss new media in today’s curriculum and a practical printing session. Eleri Jones, from the RCA also led the professional development day alongside Bernadette Rippon, Mostyn’s Head of Learning, to give teachers the various possibilities both galleries can achieve working with schools. Responses from both days were excellent; RCA, Mostyn and the teachers who attended took a lot from the day, a big thank you to all who attended and Careers Wales for their continued support to Mostyn. Cynhaliodd Mostyn 2 Ddiwrnod Hyfforddi Athrawon mewn parterniaeth â Gyrfa Cymru. Roedd y diwrnodau datblygu proffesiynol yma yn edrych ar arddangosfa Katz gan roi ystod o gynlluniau gwersi dysgu i drafod syniadau newydd yn y cwricwlwm heddiw yn ogystal â sesiwn brintio ymarferol. Roedd Eleri Jones o’r Cambrian yn arwain y diwrnod datblygu proffesiynol ochr yn ochr â Bernadette Rippon, Pennaeth Dysg Mostyn i roi gwybodaeth i’r athrawon o’r math o bethau sydd ar gael drwy weithio gyda’r ddwy oriel. Roedd yr ymateb i’r ddau ddiwrnod yn rhagorol a bu’r diwrnodau yn fendithiol i’r Cambrian, y Mostyn a’r athrawon. Landscape Workshops / Gweithdai Tirlun

Heather Lowe, a leading artist, ran landscape workshops in Mostyn for various local schools to compliment our Alex Katz exhibition. These workshops compared our landscape with that of Katz and work created by students included oil pastel and textile based artworks. Here are some images of the fantastic work created:

Bu Heather Lowe yn arwain nifer o weithdai ysgolion yn Mostyn. Roedd y testun tirlun yn cydfynd â’n harddangosfa Alex Katz. Roedd y gweithdai yn cymharu ein tirlun ni yng Nghymru gyda’r rhai yn narluniau Katz ac roedd y gwaith celf gynhyrchwyd gan y myfyrwyr yn cynnwys gwaith pastel olew a thecstil.
